Now that we’ve moved from Colorado to Kansas (temporarily until Duc can get a transfer approved from his Alaska airport to one in Oklahoma), I’m getting back into a rhythm. I finished draft 7 of A Land Without Fairytales and began drafting book 2, Múrwing’s Eclipse.
In the meantime, here’s an illustration I redid:
I plan on doing a series of five of these, one for each book as Saoirse, Adam, and the moonseedling develop through the series <3
What I love the most about illustration are the endless opportunities for growth. You never stop growing or learning things; it’ll never get boring because of that. Case in point, here is my original take of the piece above. I still like the original, but I’m encouraged to see the growth:
Growth is gradual. Little by little, but it happens <3 And there will be four more instalments (eventually) of this series. And more character design portraits. And more actual illustrations.
I’m working on a short story to share here. Hopefully it’ll be up next week. Until then, I hope you’re all well and enjoy this new illustration.
